Dr. Roger C. Mitterling
Dr. Mitterling received his veterinary medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986, having followed in his father and grandfather’s medical footsteps. His 30-year career has led to a diverse set of experiences, the majority of which is in small animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Mitterling first found his passion for medicine while working for a leading pharmaceutical company. After obtaining his V.M.D, he began to pursue small animal medicine in Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. He moved to Connecticut in the early 90s, where he was the head veterinarian and owner of a local veterinary hospital. While Dr. Mitterling enjoys both veterinary medicine and surgery, his favorite part of the job are the clients he meets. Having resided in Storrs, CT for the past 20 years with his wife and two children, Dr. Mitterling is familiar with the area and its many friendly faces. He has served as a veterinarian for the local pets for years, and is very excited for this next stage in his career. In his spare time, Dr. Mitterling is an avid fly fisher, birdwatcher, and sports enthusiast.
Kimberly Mitterling, Dr. Mitterling’s wife of over 30 years, began her own journey in medicine as a registered nurse. She previously enjoyed specialities in nursing involving critical care, and presently maintains a strong knowledge in disease and wellness. Kimberly left her nursing career to work as the practice manager in the veterinary hospital previously owned by Dr. Mitterling. She has developed 15-years’ worth of skills in maintaining a highly functioning veterinary office and hospital. Outside of medicine and management, Kimberly’s hobbies are quilting, walking, and enjoying a mystery book with a cup of tea.
Dr. Mitterling’s daughter, Courtney Mitterling, is a graduate of Lesley University with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Health from Northeastern University, and has hopes of pursuing a career in healthcare. She has been an animal-lover her entire life, having grown up with two beloved birds, Connie and Norman. Courtney is an avid runner, and enjoys hiking and kayaking.
